On the road we will pass by a wonderful city famous as the main port of the Spanish protectorate in 1911, a city known for its multiculturalism as we can remark The layout of the old town is typically Moorish, while houses in the new town seem to be Andalusian in style.
When arrive at Rabat, you are going to dive into The old town, surrounded by its ramparts, the Medina (old Muslim town), and the Millah (Jewish quarter). also the 17th-century fortress of Oudaya Kasbah, with a splendid 12th-century where you are going to enjoy lunch; after a quiet stay we will resume our exploration to see Almohad gateway, an Andalusian garden, and an adjoining Madrasah (religious college), which houses a museum of Moroccan art. and of course some outstanding historical structures, including the Tower of Hassan, and the mausoleum of Muhamad V.
Overnight at a Riad.
DAY 2: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FEZ :
After enjoying breakfast in the Riad, we are going to resume our tour towards our next destination, Morocco’s second imperial city “Meknes”, also known as the Ismail capital, a city founded by its architect Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century.
Upon arrival, you are going to visit the magnificent Bab Mansour, and Place El Hedim, a local mini-me of Marrakesh’s popular square Djemaa El Fna. Also the narrow Medina streets and grand buildings. Afterwards, we are going to continue towards the oldest city of Morocco, the sacred city of Moulay Idriss, where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried. After a tour of the city, and having lunch, we will continue towards Volubilis, a world site heritage where the Roman ruins exist. In the afternoon we will continue to Fes also known as the scientific city of Morocco.
Overnight in hotel/riad.
DAY 3: FES SIGHTSEEING ESCORTED BY AN OFFICIAL LOCAL GUIDE :
After breakfast in the hotel, you will enjoy a guided tour, or as we like to call it ” a back in time tour “, in the old city of Fes with its alleys, that lead to squares with exquisite fountains and streets bursting with aromatic food stands, rooftops unveil a sea of minarets, and stooped doorways reveal tireless artisans. Donkeys and mules are the only way of transportation; leather tanneries, where men treat leather in unwholesome baths in a traditional way. Our local guide will make sure you visit all the important places in Fes.
Overnight at a hotel/riad.
DAY 4: FES – CHEFCHAOUEN – TANGIER:
After breakfast, we will leave the city of Fes towards our next destination Tangier, passing by farmlands and, tiny Berber villages, before reaching out to the spectacular Rif mountains with some breathtaking views.
On the way, we are going to stop by Chefchaouen, beautifully perched beneath the raw peaks of the Rif, one of the prettiest towns in Morocco, an artsy, blue-washed mountain village that feels like its own world. The old Medina is a delight of the Moroccan and Andalusian influence with red-tiled roofs, bright-blue buildings, restored Kasbahs, and narrow lanes converging on busy Plaza Uta El Hammam, where you will enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant with an atmospheric view over the mountains.
