6 days tour itinerary:
6 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech is ideal to explore Morocco desert and some imperial cities.
1ST DAY : tangier – rif mountains – tetouan – chefchaouen
From the ferry or the airport in Tangier, we pick you up and start to drive through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city, to enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains of Morocco till we get to Chefchaouan, one of the stunning villages in the feet of Rif mountains. Chefchaouen Medina (old part of the city) with its blue color became one of the best towns to visit in Morocco surrounded by many funky arts, crafts stores, roof-top restaurants and cafes.
Overnight in a Riad in Chefchaouen.
DAY 2: chefchaouen – Volubilis – meknes – Fes
After breakfast in the Riad our journey starts towards Volubilis crossing several Rif villages and beautiful countryside, we stop in Volubilis to discover the Roman ruins and we learn about the Moroccan BC history, then we will drive to Meknes city (the 17th-century heritage), where we will stop for lunch. The afternoon is time to visit the historical sites of Medina such as Bab el Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.
Later on we head to Fes city where we will spend the night.
DAY 3: Fes Sightseeing
Today is for exploring the oldest city of Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in; as well as the most interesting sites of Fes with a professional local guide.
Overnight in Fes.
DAY 4: fes – ifrane – midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
In the morning we start the day towards the Sahara from the Riad, crossing near the national park of Ifrane, We will make a break in the town of Ifrane « the Switzerland of Morocco » as it is called To enjoy its beauty and has memorable photos, after that we will head towards Azrou to see the Barbary Apes/ monkeys in the cedar forest then we Continuing to Midelt for a lunch meal.
By the afternoon, we will cross the pass of Tizi N Telghomt 1907m altitude to reach Errachidia, while admiring the views of Ziz gorges, which offers amazing photographic opportunities.
Later on, we will have a stop for a panoramic view of Ziz Valley. The drive continues to Merzouga passing by Aoufous and Erfoud, as soon as we Arrive at the hotel in Merzouga, we get ready for the experience of riding camels on the dunes for an hour to enjoy the sunset.
Overnight and dinner in a desert campsite.
DAY 5: Sahara – Rissani – Tinghir – Bouamlne Dades
If you wake up early enough, the Sahara desert offers an amazing sunrise. Afterward, after showering, and we will peacefully ride the camels back to the village of Merzouga, on the edge of the dunes appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes with first lights.
Visit Errissani city and Errfoud before leaving towards Todra Gorges, well known as an important destination for rock climbers. The highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, where we can do some walking before heading to Dades for dinner and accommodation.
DAY 6: Boumalne Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas mounatins – Marrakech
After breakfast we start the drive to the valley of the roses which blooms in April, taking some off-road inside the palm trees of Skoura where the architecture of the Kasbahs is spreading within the shadow of the palms.
We stop in Ouarzazate city for some pictures of the Kasbah of Taourirt; as well as the cinema studios which are the high lights of the city of Ouarzazate, we head to Ksar Ait Ben Haddo which is a UNESCO world heritage, and most visited sight in the south, after the walking visit and lunch we take the road again crossing the High Atlas mountain via Tizi n Tichka pass 2260m. arriving Marrakech in the early evening.
